Supervises daily activities of store personnel. Assists with various aspects of customer sales. Works with retail only specialist to ensure store is properly stocked in retail only goods with special attention to regional needs. Ensures proper display of merchandise on the sales floor by teaching and assisting department managers with presentation and display of goods in a logical and attractive manner. Works with department managers and inventory control specialists to review min and max levels, purchase orders, and screen orders to ensure proper inventory levels. Monitors and evaluates sales levels. Supervises daily activities of retail personnel by assigning work and checking accuracy of work completed. Completes performance appraisals.
Troubleshoots and solves daily issues and problems. Assists with interviewing, selection, training, staffing, promotion, coaching and discipline of employees as needed. Assists with customer sales. Provides assistance to customers by locating and explaining merchandise, answering questions, and resolving common problems.
Communicates with managers and other divisions as needed regarding questions or concerns. Prepares reports, attends management and are meetings to ensure retail objectives are met. Schedules and performs sales seminars and clinics by vendors and in store specialists. Review daily bank deposits; reconciles vault, and purchase orders. Prepares store for daily opening and closing including security functions. Ensures maintenance and cleanliness of building and grounds. Performs other duties as assigned by management.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus 5 years advanced retail management experience including buying and negotiating experience. Knowledge of company products both technically and as it applies to customers specific needs. Knowledge of basic retail sales practices and principles. Ability to communicate with all levels of employees as well as outside the community. Ability to build a cohesive team.
Skill in operating a personal computer and various software packages. Ability to effectively function as a team player. Appreciation and/or knowledge of hunting, fishing and outdoor sports.
