Job description:
Are you an administrative professional with experience supporting executives? Are you able to prioritize multiple tasks while keeping an eye on detail? If you answered yes to both of these questions, this is the opportunity for you. Cascadia Community College, ranked No. 2 community college in the U.S. and co-located on a campus with the University of Washington Bothell, approximately 18 miles northeast of Seattle, is seeking an innovative, collaborative, motivated, and dynamic individual for the position of Administrative Assistant for the Executive Director for Advancement. Cascadia employees have 24 days of vacation (accrual based) and a personal leave day, a summer work schedule with 3-day weekends, a portable retirement package, tuition waivers, and other benefits.

As the principal assistant to the Executive Director for Advancement, under general direction, this position provides direct administrative support, as well as manages all office operations and acts as a liaison with all college administration and community leaders. This position will work directly with the Executive Director and management to prepare correspondence, reports, schedules, and spreadsheets, prepare and maintain budget documents, coordinate meeting arrangements, and assist with the day to day operations of the area of Advancement, which includes Institutional Research, Communications and Marketing, Development, and the Cascadia Community College Foundation.
Skills:
The successful applicant will have the following Minimum Qualifications:

•        Associate’s degree
•        Two (2) years of administrative support experience at the executive level
•        Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks concurrently
•        Ability to work effectively with populations representing diverse backgrounds, life experiences, and abilities
•        Strong and effective communication skills: written, oral, and listening
OR
•        Equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Qualifications:

•        Experience working in a communications, marketing, Foundations, External Relations, and/or Development environment
•        Advanced proficiency with MS Software products: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint


Knowledge of:
•        Standard office practices and procedures
•        English grammar, spelling, punctuation, and business communications
•        Customer service principles
Skill in:
•        Communicating efficiently and effectively in writing and verbally
•        Working with diverse groups and interacting effectively with a variety of constituencies, including coworkers, community leaders, the general public, and external agencies
•        Coordinating and effectively prioritizing tasks, activities, and assignments
•        Organizing, following through, and paying attention to detail
•        Proficiently using computers and related software applications, especially Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
•        Operating standard office equipment including but not limited to fax, multi-line telephone, and copier
Ability to:
•        Multitask, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure
•        Handle sensitive information tactfully and confidentially
•        Adapt and adjust in a dynamic work environment
