Job description:

JOB PURPOSE:
Carry out all routine repairs within and outside the High Museum buildings, as
well as any work needed at off-site storage facilities. Responsible for organizing the loading
dock facilities and transporting materials between loading docks, offices, in-house storage areas
and off-site storage and shop facilities.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES include the following:
Performs routine repairs within and outside the High Museum buildings to include: fountain maintenance, changing light bulbs, furniture and equipment moving, pressure washing and cleaning building exterior, and other similar duties.
Assist in maintaining and organizing all non-art storage areas and loading dock facilities.
Maintain stock of lamps, paint, etc. through constant inventory and re-ordering.
Maintain and track all Facilities Dept. tools and equipment.
Assist Manager of Facilities in obtaining bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
Assist Operations and Special Events staff during special exhibitions/events.
Insure cleanliness and proper operation of exterior fountains and pumps.
Ensure all HMA vehicles are properly maintained and in good repair.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED required.
Maintenance experience preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION:
Have, or be able to obtain, valid Georgia drivers license
ADDITIONAL SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Must be presentable at all times. This is a high-visibility position.
Must be security-minded and be eager to work within the museums procedures as a team player.
Should be detailed and organized.
Lift 40 to 50 pounds, climb ladders and operate hydraulic lift.
Must be comfortable working in high places.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions and requests from the museum staff.
REASONING ABILITIES:
Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram and schedule form.
Ability to solve problems and prioritize needs.
