Job Title: Controller for Real Estate/Property Management Company - Sponsorship & Relocation Available

Job description:
Our client is a well established and growing residential/commercial real estate company in the greater Los Angeles area and they are looking for an experienced, forward thinking Controller to oversee the entire financial and business operation. This is a hands-on and highly visible position reporting directly to the CEO.

Our client is willing to relocate the right candidate and Sponsorship is also an option.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Oversee the activities of the Accounting department including accurate and timely financial reporting (monthly financial statements, annual audits, budgets, etc.)
• Assists CEO on all strategic initiatives
• Corporate Month-end and Quarter-end financial reporting
• Tax Accounting (Depreciation, Amortization, Capitalization)
• Cash Flow Projections
• Presents financial information to the CEO
• Interact and supervise company's property accounting and other management team
• Oversee the monthly-close accounting calendar
• Cash Flow Projections
• Help in managing the relationship with and provide assistance to 3rd party tax preparer
• Review financial statements and supporting documentation
• Review vendor invoices, billings to tenants and CAM reconciliation
• Conduct appropriate training on accounting processes and evaluate and improve current processes

The ideal candidate would have:

• At least 5+ years experience directly in the real estate and/or property management field
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Finance and/or Accounting or equivalent combination of education/experience
• Strong knowledge of all accounting principals
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Computer literate with advanced knowledge of most programs such as Word, Excel, Quickbooks etc. or any other Accounting software
• Self-motivated and detail oriented and sets a good example for the team
• Management and/or supervisory role experience overseeing all areas of accounting and other department heads
• Have excellent work ethics and be a team player
• Can multi-task and work with tight deadlines
• Able to be discreet with confidential/sensitive information
• Able to work independently and take initiative
• CPA status helpful but not required
• Bilingual in any language helpful but not required
