Job description:

In this key position, you will work with our Chief Contracting Officer and Faculty Practice Group (FPG) leadership to develop a payor contracting strategy that is aligned with our system-wide contracting approach and FPG strategic plan. You will also be responsible for managing the contracting efforts for our Ambulatory Surgery Centers and reimbursement terms for community-based sites and services. As a key participant in our system-wide contracting teams, you will negotiate contract language and rates by product line, case types and clinical service areas. You will also:

· Manage and develop staff members who negotiate contracts with third-party payers and key referring medical groups

· Review, analyze and compile professional data for clinical procedures and treatments, including case frequency, rates and referral points

· Collaborate with FPG Finance to evaluate the profitability and appropriateness of various payment methodologies

· Review contract language with input from FPG leadership, Legal, Compliance, Risk Management and departments

· Recommend adjustments to optimize contracting strategy

· Identify, establish and maintain contract relationships with medical groups, independent practice associations, and others for patient referrals

· Works with outreach coordinators to communicate updates regarding Referring Medical Groups and contract status and operational concerns

· Represents the department at Payor meetings

We’re seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented, creative problem solver with:

· A minimum of five or more years of experience in managed care contracting, specifically with a medical group or health plan

· Exceptional negotiation abilities

· Outstanding communication, interpersonal, presentation, multitasking, prioritizing and time management skills

· Strong analytical aptitude and expertise

· Ability to read, understand and interpret contracts in detail

· Ability to evaluate logical aspects of a proposal and develop a plan of action

· Proven skill in maintaining detailed, accurate and organized files/records

· Knowledge of hospital operating procedures

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office

· Ability to function at a high level of efficiency and effectiveness with frequent interruptions.
