Job description:
The Brandeis International Business School seeks to hire an Assistant Director of Events to help build the brand of the Business School through high level events, enhancing the classroom experience, engaging alumni and friends with events, and supporting donor stewardship at the school. As a member of the Development and Alumni Relations team, this individual will be required to build strong collaborative ties across different units within the Business School, and to work across campus, organize and oversee the school wide events calendar, support gathering data for research center donor reports, and work in collaboration with the Development and Alumni Relations team. This position will report to the Associate Director of Development and Alumni Relations.

Job Duties:

Work closely with the Centers and Institutes Faculty Directors, and Sr. Director of Development and Alumni Relations (plus Institutional Advancement) to plan, execute, and coordinate major virtual, hybrid, and in-person events. Develops, implements and manages all aspects of event planning for the International Business School; participates in conceptualizing programs, engaging with key stakeholders, building an audience and assessing impact. Events include programs from small lunch gatherings to high profile symposia and conferences for campus-wide and external audiences, including academic, business and political leaders.

Support faculty to execute smaller panels/events.

Create and maintain a functional school-wide events calendar; lead internal events group to avoid over scheduling leadership, faculty, staff, student, alumni and external audiences.

Work collaboratively and strategically to increase the diversity of event participants and attendees.

Collect data from events for analysis, create and maintain email lists.

Lead evaluation and debrief process post-event; implement changes needed

Provide critical planning and execution support for an anticipated school-wide reunion event in 2024.

Skills & Qualifications:

College degree preferred + work experience

Ability to work across several departments within the Business School and across the University Campus

Ability to build strong collaborative relationships within the Business School and across campus

Able to plan and execute multiple events at a time

Must have excellent time management and multi-tasking skills

Must be detail oriented and have strong Excel skills

Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills
